A Royal Blues Year in Review, Part One

The obligatory end-of-the-year post is being broken up into parts to allow for more pictures of Eric Hosmer (and other people and things). This is Part One.

January
I was chosen to be a part of the Royals Digital Digest at FanFest! Before I went to KC, I noted that Anthony Lerew is married – and people still find this site with search terms related to that. In Kansas City, I interviewed Dayton Moore, found some golden bacon, asked Jeff Francoeur about his infamous leadership, learned various tidbits about Royals outfielders, and took a whole bunch of pictures. I ended the month by wondering who will be the next Rob Neyer.

Hosmer

One, one Eric Hosmer. Ah ah ah!

I finally got to meet Denny!

Hanging out with Denny was a highlight.

Also, Crashburn Alley made a sweet LOLpic featuring my shots of Lorenzo Cain.

February
I suffered “blogger shame,” celebrated Pitchers & Catchers Report Day with like a million pictures of pitchers and catchers, and found a hilarious mistake on a government website.

March
I wondered why Royals media people were still covering Zack Greinke every single day, had a health scare (which is still going on, by the way), celebrated the release of The Extra 2% (with which I assisted), had fun with Swype and the Royals roster, and reminisced about Mike Sweeney.

April
The “Y’Know Meter,” which surely would have won a Pulitzer had I kept up with it, was introduced. (I will not be in California next summer, which means perhaps I’ll be able to keep better track of that very important statistic.) Reader Matt B shared his really cool Opening Day experience. I went to exactly one Royals game this season, and it was that time Joakim Soria gave up four runs to the stinkin’ White Sox in the 9th. Horrible. But the photos were good!

The throw wasn't quite there, but Pena couldn't hold on to it anyway. Another Chicago run. :(

Good shot, bad outcome.

Alex Gordon had to LEAP up over him!

Section 319, row 1. Best seat for pictures like this.

The Royals’ big prospects were all young for their level, which is something to celebrate.

Go to work, like a Hos

You can't spell "America" without "Eric." Wait, what?

That will do it for part one. Stay tuned for future part(s?) and more pictures of pretty first basemen enlightening content soon!
