Good friend of the blog Lee Warren wrote a piece for Examiner.com about minor league livin‘. He interviewed me for the story, and I have to say that the hour+ we spent talking about it was a heck of a conversation. Those of you already familiar with this topic (or who’ve visited my other site) may not be surprised, but it’s still a great read.
The situation these players describe isn’t easily fixed. Minor league teams do not pay the players’ salaries. The major league teams they are affiliated with are responsible for that. And with the minor league players not having a union in place, they don’t have much leverage because if they aren’t willing to play for what they are currently making, someone else will.
Please go read, comment, etc.
