Money for SABR, and chicks for…wait, what?

If you are a member of SABR, you can get a grant for your research efforts. I don’t personally have any research to contribute to the greater good of baseball knowledge, but I respect and appreciate all the hard work, innovation and sharing of the SABR-minded people of the world.

From Susan Petrone:

This is just a reminder that all SABR members are eligible to apply to
the SABR-Yoseloff Baseball Research Grant Program. THE DEADLINE TO
APPLY IS FRIDAY, MAY 15.

SABR is now accepting applications for
the 2009 SABR-Yoseloff Baseball Research Grants. These grants of are
designed to assist SABR members in completing baseball research
projects by offering reimbursement for research-related expenses such
as library fees, travel, or photocopying.

With generous funding
from The Anthony A. Yoseloff Foundation, SABR is able to award research
grants to its members with the intention of later publishing that
research.

A minimum of $4,000 is allocated for awards
annually, but distribution is dependent upon the quality of the
proposal pool. The maximum grant award is $1,000, and individuals are
limited to one grant per year.

The application form is available at: http://www.sabr.org/sabr.cfm?a=cms,c,2710,34,0

That’s all I have for now. I have thoughts on the Daniel Gutierrez/Royals/Boras holdout situation coming soon, as well as some Omaha Royals stuff. This is kind of a bad couple of days, work-and-school wise, so please bear with me if I don’t get to everything. The end (of the school year) is near!
